If you love soap but are looking for a unique texture and an indulgently soft feel, try this delicious whipped soap. This type of soap is fluffy and can be used as a hand soap, body wash or shaving cream. A little goes a long way, and it will leave your skin silky smooth with a dreamy lather.
This soap is made without lye and uses hard oils, like shea butter, and non-greasy humectants, such as vegetable glycerin. The addition of this makes the whipped soap more moldable and helps it stay in a whipped, rather than a solid, state. Vegetable glycerin is also a great emulsifier and helps the ingredients to stick together better. This recipe also uses fractionated coconut oil which is simply regular coconut oil that has had some of the fats separated out. This speeds up the cooling of the soap base and allows it to be whipped quicker.
When all the ingredients are in the bowl, whisk well until it is light and fluffy – about 3-7 minutes depending on your mixer and the room temperature. Weigh in your fragrance and color and stir them into the batter. Add the preservative and whisk again to combine.
Let this whipped soap cool to room temperature and then put it into jars or other containers. It will keep for a while at this stage and can be used as a hand soap, shower gel or shaving cream. Best Whipped Soap
