The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man who was caught on video breaking into a convenience store twice in an attempt to steal the illegal drug known as “Zaza.” Joshua Bolin is charged with two counts of burglary of a business to obtain a controlled substance. The first burglary occurred in late 2018. The second happened on Jan. 8.
ZAZA Red is an unregulated chemical compound that’s being sold as a dietary supplement in stores, gas stations and online. It’s been known to have powerful opioid-like effects. The company behind zaza red is based out of Kentucky and sells the pills in various sizes and flavors. It also markets itself as a nootropic and claims to give an intense mood boost and mental clarity. It’s also being marketed under the names Tiannaa, Nootropic, Pegasus, TD Red and Zaza. In its prescribed form, it’s called Coaxil or Stablon, but many of the products that are currently being sold as supplements don’t contain any of that information.
It is a highly addictive drug with dangerous side effects. It stimulates the opiate receptors in the brain, which can cause addiction. It has been linked to serious health problems and even death. It has been known to cause withdrawal in people who use it regularly, including seizures and heart palpitations. It is also not FDA approved in the United States, but it’s legal to buy under the counter in some states.
Unlike traditional antidepressants, which act on serotonin, tianeptine works by binding to the mu-opioid receptors in the brain. This is why recreational users and researchers consider it closer to an opioid than an antidepressant. This makes it much more dangerous to abuse and can result in easily avoidable overdoses, hospitalizations and even deaths.
In its natural state, tianeptine can be found in the root of the plant Mitragyna speciosa or Kratom. In the US, it is often combined with kratom and phenibut to produce a combination that’s known as “Zaza”. Because the FDA does not regulate these products, there is no guarantee that they are safe or effective. In fact, there have been numerous reports of toxicity and overdoses.
Fortunately, there are effective ways to treat a zaza red addiction. Medical detox can help reduce the uncomfortable symptoms of withdrawal and make it easier to quit using drugs or alcohol completely. During treatment, you can get the support and education that you need to overcome your addiction. Residential programs provide a safe environment away from daily triggers, allowing you to focus on recovering. Contact a treatment center today to learn more about your options. The sooner you start your recovery, the better. ZAZA Red
